Quark 4.0 Update Class

DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for QuarkXPress users who want to learn to use the new features of version 4.0. Class discussion and exercises cover --
Interface and tool changes including pop-out tools, tabbed dialogue boxes, page icons in lower left corner of window, tool palette customization,
The nature and application of character-level style sheets,
How to draw with the bezier drawing tools,
Merging and splitting boxes,
Changing content type of boxes,
Options for resizing grouped objects,
Creating custom dashed and striped lines,
Creating and using the lists feature to navigate within a document, and create indices and tables of contents,
Using the book feature to link multiple files,
Synchronizing page numbers, style sheets, colors and lists within a book,
Converting text to a box and options for working with the box created by conversion,
Changes to the runaround feature,
New options for creating and editing a clipping path from within QuarkXPress.
3 hours, $120 (available for Windows and Macintosh).

PREREQUISITES

A working knowledge of QuarkXPress 3.3.

RELATED CLASSES

QuarkXPress for an introduction to QuarkXPress concepts, tools and menus, and the page layout features of the program.
Advanced QuarkXPress to learn to use QuarkXPress more efficiently and take advantage of automating features, and explore its typographic formatting features in depth.
Quark Graphics for users familiar with the page layout features of QuarkXPress who want to learn to use its drawing and graphics manipulation capabilities.
