Premiere Class

DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere for business people and multimedia professionals who want to use the program to prepare and edit video clips for use in multimedia presentations. Class discussion and exercises cover --
What Premier can do and what its role is vis-a-vis other computer software in creating digital video,
How to determine which preset (time base, frame rate, and compression, preview and output options to use) given the nature of the movie being created,
The formats of source materials that can be imported into Premiere, and how to import them into the Project window,
What the various tracks in the Construction window are for, how to insert clips and use the window to assemble a movie,
How to trim a clip by specifying its œin” and œout” points either in the Construction or the Clip window,
How Premiere adjusts the contents of a track when a clip within it is edited, and how to lock a track to prevent this from occurring,
Adjusting the on-screen view to facilitate different editing functions,
Inserting and specifying the particulars of transitions,
Applying and adjusting filters,
Inserting and controlling the timing of titles,
Working with Alpha channels,
How to add sound files to a movie, including the kinds of sounds that can be incorporated and how they are synchronized with video clips,
How to preview your movie as you create and edit it,
How to compile a file as a completed movie and print it to videotape, if desired.

12 hours, $520 (available for Windows and Macintosh)

PREREQUISITES
A working knowledge of mouse and menu-based computer applications, and the Windows or Macintosh operating system.
