DESCRIPTION

This course is for marketing and graphics professionals who want to learn to use Director to create interactive presentations, kiosk displays and product demonstrations as well as ShockWave movies for use on Internet web sites . Class discussion and exercises cover --
The nature of a Director movie and how it is different from a digital video file,
The kinds of images, sounds and video clips that can be imported into a movie,
The difference between cast members and sprites,
How to create a cast member using Director's paint window,
How to insert a cast member into the score,
How to control a sprite's movement across the stage,
What transitions do and how to use them,
The kinds of sound files that can be incorporated into a movie and how to place a sound into the score,
Methods of creating animation and use of the AutoDistort feature,
What to consider in deciding what resolution to use for the movie,
What color palettes, how to create and import a custom color palette,
The basic elements of a script.
The difference between score and cast member scripts,
Specifying a custom registration point for a cast member,
How to create a projector file.

12 hours, $520 (available for Windows and Macintosh).

PREREQUISITES

A working knowledge of mouse and menu-based computer applications, and the Windows or Macintosh operating system. Familiarity with an image editing program like Fractal Design Painter or Adobe Photoshop is also helpful.
